Weed Infused Cajun Sweet Potato Fries

Y’all have been asking for more weed infused recipes, and boy do I have a really amazing  one for you this time.  These WEED INFUSED CAJUN SWEET POTATO FRIES are everything… okay?! They’re truly the perfect edible.  The only thing is that they can be addicting, so try to keep your self control strong while eating these, haha.


DISCLAIMER 1: These sweet potato fries can OF COURSE be made not weed infused.  Simply just swap out the weed infused oil for the fries, for normal coconut oil.  Super easy!

DISCLAIMER 2: If you have not eaten marijuana infused edibles of any kind before, please proceed with caution.  Eat a small amount at first and give yourself at minimum 2 hours to see how they affect you before consuming more.  Theres never been any documented deaths from marijuana, but eating too much of these can make you feel too high very quick, so just be careful if you’re a newbie!

So let’s first start out by talking equipment.  To make these weed infused, deep frying won’t work (or at least to my knowledge it won’t work), so we’re going to have to bake these babies.  I like a really crispy fry, so I’ve come up with a hack to getting super crispy oven baked fries, using a similar method to having an air fryer.  You know those cookie cooling racks you can buy at most grocery stores?  The metal ones that look like a grid?  Those are the key to perfect fries.  Spray one down with some non stick cooking spray, and place it on top of a normal baking tray.  This will allow the hot air from the oven to fully circulate the fries, making them extra crispy and not oily / soggy.  You’ll also need to set up your oven correctly for this as well.  Place your rack in the upper third of your oven, and preheat to 425F.

Now that we’ve got the equipment & oven situation resolved, let’s get working on the fries themselves!  Peel your sweet potatoes and cut them into fry shapes.  I like my fries to be a bit on the thinner side but not shoestring fry thin.  The thickness of your fries will vary the cooking time so keep that in mind as well!  Add them to a bowl with your weed infused coconut oil and toss until fully incorporated.  Lay your fries out on that cookie cooling rack over the baking tray in a single, even layer… making sure to not overcrowd the pan.  You might need to do this in batches depending on how many fries you’re making.  Place in your 425F oven for 18-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked through and crispy.

Once your fries are done, remove them from the oven and almost immediately, add them to a large, clean, dry bowl.  Add in your salt & cajun seasoning, and toss to combine.  I like to add the cajun seasoning after the fries are cooked so it doesn’t burn in the oven, and salting your fries after cooking is always best.  For the dipping sauce, simply mix some vegan ranch dressing together with some blackened / cajun seasoning.  These really are such a showstopper and I promise you’ll be just as obsessed with them as I am.

And like I mentioned before, you can definitely make these not weed infused.  This technique of cooking fries makes really crispy oven baked fries so I highly recommend it even if you aren’t adding weed oil (just use normal oil instead!).

Weed Infused Cajun Sweet Potato Fries

These Weed Infused Cajun Sweet Potato Fries with Blackened Ranch Dressing are the perfect snack for any party that's weed friendly.  Eat with caution & responsibility.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 large sweet potatoes cut into fries (skin peeled)
  • 3 tbsp weed infused coconut oil
  • salt to taste
  • 2-3 tsp cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup vegan ranch dressing
  • 2 tsp blackened / cajun seasoning

Instructions

  1. Position rack in upper third of oven and preheat to 425F & spray your cookie cooling rack with oil and place on top of a baking tray.  

  2. Place peeled & cut sweet potatoes into a large bowl with your weed infused coconut oil and toss until each fry is well coated in oil. 

  3. Arrange potatoes in a single layer on the cookie cooling tray on top of a baking tray, making sure to not overcrowd.  Putting your fries on a cookie cooling tray and not directly on the baking tray itself will give you a crispier fry because the air from the oven can fully circulate around the fry while cooking.  

  4. Bake 18-25 minutes until crispy and cooked through.  No need to flip them because of the even air circulation.  If you don't have a cookie cooling tray, just put them right on the baking sheet following the same instructions, but flip the fries halfway through.  

  5. Remove fries from the cookie cooling sheet almost immediately, and transfer them into a large clean / dry bowl.  Add your salt & cajun seasoning, and toss until combined.  

  6. For the sauce, mix together your ranch and blackened / cajun seasoning and serve on the side.
